
Panasonic’s new PAN1315 Host Controlled Interface (HCI)
Bluetooth RF module brings Texas Instrument’s seventh
generation Bluetooth core integrated circuit, the CC2560, to an
easy to use module format. Panasonic’s tiny footprint technology
has produced a module of only 58.5mm2. The module is designed
to accommodate PCBs pad pitch of 1.3mm and as little as two
layers for easy implementation and manufacturing.
This module has been designed to be 100% pin compatible
with the next generation of Bluetooth Low Energy devices. This
unique design feature enables designers to seamlessly transition
between Bluetooth Classic and Low Energy modules.
The PAN1315 makes connectivity between mobile devices such
as cellular phones and small button cell battery powered devices
like fi tness sensors, watches, healthcare, entertainment and
mobile accessories easily implemented, creating a seamless
data chain from sensors to the web.

RF MODULES
RF Modules are an excellent choice for lighting control applications. Two series in Panasonic’s RF Module product line are well suited for lighting control:
- Mesh Networking — Complex, multi-node networks are most easily implemented using SNAP® (Synapse Network Application Protocol) modules such as the PAN4555 and PAN4561. SNAP networks don’t require the use of a coordinator, making them more reliable than other network topologies.

New SG-211S*E Series supports
low voltage, high temperature applications

Toyocom Corporation's U.S.-based Timing Products Division
today announced the "SG-211S*E" series of compact, highly
accurate simple clock oscillators (SPXO). The new crystal
oscillators, with increased capabilities, support voltages
as low as 1.8 V and temperatures as high as 90°C. Sample
pricing is estimated at approximately $7.00 each.
Epson Toyocom has long been offering a line of compact
and highly accurate SPXO for use as reference clocks in
wireless networks, Bluetooth, and other short range communication
applications. Applications for even smaller wireless devices
are on the rise, as are the temperatures of components
contained in compact housings. The new SG series fills
this need for high temperature support in addition to a
strong industry demand for low voltages necessary to maximize
battery run time.
Epson Toyocom has upgraded its already compact and highly
accurate crystal oscillators with support for voltages
as low as 1.8 V and a frequency tolerance of ±15 × 10-6
at temperatures up to 90°C. The SG-211S*E series
also has 5 dB (detuning frequency: 1 kHz) lower phase noise(*1)
than earlier products, making it an excellent choice for
the low phase noise requirements of reference clocks in
wireless communication devices.

AMT203 modular absolute encoder

CUI Inc has added a new absolute encoder to our high resolution, low-cost AMT modular encoder line. The AMT203 outputs 12 bits of absolute position information in a very small (1.35˝x1.13˝x 0.45˝) modular package. Unique among its peers, the AMT203 generates absolute position information using CUI’s patented, capacitive code generation system coupled with a proprietary ASIC. AMT303 modular commutation encoder
Summary:
CUI has released a second series in the AMT line targeted specifically at applications that utilize brushless dc motors. The AMT303 generates standard U/V/W commutation signals for vectoring current to brushless motors. Resolutions can be set through the AMT303’s SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface). Commutation output can accommodate brushless motors with 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 pole pairs, and is also selectable via the SPI. The AMT303 offers supplementary incremental A, B, and Z channels for various servo positioning and startup sequences. When compared to optical encoders typically used in commutation applications, the new AMT303 will bring a level of ruggedness and ease of use unrivaled in the industry.

C14 optical encoder line addition - 3.3 Vdc

NEW SMT dc switching regulator from V-Infinity
Division of CUI INC
V-Infinity, a division of CUI Inc, announces the release
of the V78XX-500-SMT series, a surface mount version of its
0.5 A V78XX-500 dc switching regulator. The V78XX-500-SMT
offers efficiencies of up to 96% and is designed to be a
high performance alternative to linear regulators. Unlike
linear regulators, the V78XX-500-SMT series does not require
a heat sink, making it ideal for applications where board
space is at a premium and energy efficiency is a concern.
The
V78XX-500-SMT series is compact, measuring 15.24 x 8.50 x
7.00 mm. A
wide input range is available from 4.5 to 28 Vdc and regulated output voltages
of 3.3, 5, 12, and 15 Vdc are offered. Output current is 500 mA with an
operating temperature range of -40 to +71°C at 100% load, derating to 60%
load at 85°C. The converters offer short circuit protection, thermal
shutdown, very low ripple and noise (10 mV p-p typical), and an MTBF of 2 million
